Much less than with wood products, and a lot less than recycled tissue products which require the use of strong de-inking chemicals to make. The bamboo is only treated with hydrogen peroxide during manufacture to make it whiter, nothing else, so it’s much more skin friendly for those with sensitivities.
We use a skin friendly water bleach called hydrogen peroxide to achieve that final white in our tissues.
